Welcome to the Landmark Smiles frequently asked questions page!
Welcome to the Landmark Smiles frequently asked questions page! Our goal is to provide answers to the frequently asked questions we receive at Landmark Smiles. Notice something missing from our FAQs? Let us know!
How often should I replace my toothbrush?
We recommend replacing your brush every 3-4 months. If it is worn or you have been sick recently, you should replace it immediately.
What kind of toothbrush should I buy?
We recommend only purchasing soft-bristled toothbrushes, as harder bristles can actually damage the teeth. For those with limited mobility, an electric toothbrush may aid in proper dental care.
How often should I brush my teeth?
We recommend brushing your teeth after each meal you have. However, twice a day is sufficient if you cannot. For those on-the-go, we recommend rinsing with water after each meal.
When should I schedule my child’s first visit?
At Landmark Smiles, we recommend that children see us once their first tooth has erupted..
When should I start brushing my child’s teeth?
We actually recommend starting BEFORE they ever have teeth using a soft cloth. You can gently rub the gums, removing any bacteria and also getting your child used to dental care.
Can you cure gum disease?
Unfortunately, once periodontal diseases reach an advanced stage (gum disease), they are no longer reversible. Gingivitis, however, can be reversed if caught early enough.
Why does teeth whitening hurt my teeth?
You are probably using over-the-counter teeth whitening products which are known to cause tooth sensitivity and gum irritation. Our professional teeth whitening does not have the same side-effects.
